The Half a Year Post -January & the fish Pond _Little Endeavors Pt 1

The year 2021 has been quite eventful for me, most especially the month of March due to the Nysc orientation camp

Just a funny video, but that’s a gist for another day!!

One major thing I decided to do to make my months this year memorable was to give each month a theme ( just like they do in churches). However, apart from my devotionals, my monthly themes were usually based on skill acquisition and goals to run with.

Now walk with me into January & the Fish Pond.

As an official graduate from school, i was deep in thoughts about what to do to support myself with the funds i had. At that time, It was all about my passion and how far i could see the actualization of my dreams to be an Agribusiness Woman. Despite studying Real Estate Management, I always loved agriculture, especially fish farming, snail rearing and a little on plant life courtesy Mama Floxy (my Mom). With a passion like that, my mind travelled round the river bend and back again with the same thoughts ” if you combine real estate and agricluture you’d have real estate agriculture!” while not do that !
From that, i began my little fish pond strating from where i was, with the little funds i had and small facilities i could find. Aint nobody coming to give you some lump sum capital to fund a concept that they cant see you know!. If at all you even get a sponsor, your concept must be super convincing!

Most people would say ” you started just like that?, no experience at all?” well the answer is a Yes and a No! I did not start without experience per say, though what I knew at that time was nearly not enough because there is a lot of learning on the job required in the business. I remember writing a blog post of baby steps 101 a few years back but was too frustrated to continue it. In that year i made my very first attempt to be a fish farmer. My dearest! it was an experience. I made losses but also made little profits most of which was the experience. The stress of a novice like myself made me think that fish farming can never be good. But today, from few tranings i’ve been opportuned to attend while on the job, as well as gudiance from beautiful people also involved in such business, I am much more excited to see how far i can achive my goals.
Experience is the best teacher, but experience with guidiance is better.

A quick question , what did you do in january? if you cannot remeber then i suggest you take a cue from me and set a theme for your months ahead, make plans and commit them into Gods hands. then, run with it.

About My Fish Pond

I started my fish pond with two water tanks, a few concrete blocks to elevate them, pipes to channel water in and out of the tanks for drainage and filling purposes, a clean mop and net (the ones used for chicken cages.) to prevent beautiful birds and other animals from skydiving .lol. _would post more on its progress in other months_
